I just returned from a delightful weekend celebrating my best friend’s birthday at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, FL.

(To my chagrin, the sounds of ocean waves were replaced by “no that’s my skirt!” and “I left my water bottle at school, again” early this morning. But I digress.)

Besides the lack of teen demands, seaside breezes and beautiful surroundings, one of my favorite things about this resort, and why I return again and again, is their level of service.

They have a way of knowing exactly what you need and exceeding your expectations.

Case in point…

While at the beach, after you are set up with personal lounge chairs, umbrella and towel service, you are given a flag that you may raise to indicate that you would like to order a cocktail or lunch item.

You don’t have to find someone to try and order and the server doesn’t have to constantly ask.

Instead, you are literally raising a flag to let them know that you want to order, aka, spend more money.

Up the flag goes and out comes delicious mojitos and seaside salads.

Ah…I loved that little flag. And all that it stood for.

The thing is though…you can have the same exact thing inside your business.

Imagine…
