The more I spoke to people, the more motivated I became to do something about it.
I was attending a huge marketing conference and each person I spoke to had spent significant money with the “guru” and yet got nothing of substance back.
And by significant money, I mean HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
How could this be and why did people keep coming back in spite of no ROI? And how could we leverage this for good?
Some thoughts…
- It is not the best product, program or service that wins. It is the best marketing. If you rely on “the product to speak for itself” it won’t. You better start marketing.
- Your “Top Tier” clients (aka the ones that spend the most time and money with you) should be featured in your content and celebritized so that they become the goal of others in your client base.
- Give those you work with a chance to come together for a “them vs. us” bonding experience. Share common beliefs that bond you together and unite you against the world. (Sounds a bit crazy pants, I know but this is a BIG deal in creating a bond in your community and with you. More on this in a future post.)
- In order for others to be excited, you better be excited first. You are leading the way and if you show up with anything other than full on joy, blitz and celebration…how can your audience get excited?
- Sales happen when follow up happens. Don’t let the first offer be your only offer. Give people a chance to say yes more than once. And then…actually do the thing you are selling.
Do that…and not only do you grow a successful business, you impact the lives of those you want to work with.
Some exciting new plans came out of this time away…can’t wait to share them.
Because you Kelly, were made to thrive.
